Turkish Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Turkish Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation was founded in 1958 and serve as a Society for specialists in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The members of the society are now over 1162.

Turkish Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is a member of International Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Missions and Aims of the Society
To care about and follow the scientific advancement in technical and social fields of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, to promote distribution of the new information to medical doctors and other health professionals, and to encourage the related activites which contribute to the art of physical-rehabilitation medicine and public health.

To represent the members in National Health Boards, to increase the co-operation among the  members, to protect and promote the official rights of the health professionals and to contribute to the development of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the country.

To represent and support the members’ scientific and administrative activities in international scientific platforms.     

To reach these aims
Organises scientific congresses, courses, seminars, symposiums and meetings with national and international contribution and invites local and foreigner scientists.

Creates conditions for co-operation among its members and also maintain relationships with national and international associations.

Represents its members in the International Scientific Societies of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Subscribes to related scientific periodicals in Turkish and in foreign languages.

Publishes journals, brochures and books to promote medical research and to contribute to the knowledge of health professionals in the field.

Encourages good clinic practice and research by scholarships and by organising competitions.

Supports educational needs of the health professionals in the field.

Establishes National Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Board and maintains its activities.
